Quartet of Him and Her Donald Skiff

These four stories are about relationships between men and women. We can never know what's in the mind of another creature. We only guess, based on what we ourselves experience. It's called a "Theory of Mind," the assumption that because I feel anger or grief under certain circumstances, then it's likely that others do too. It's generally accepted these days that other creatures, at least among mammals, share some of the same emotional experiences that we do. We're more confident that humans share the most, (with some uncertainty about men and women). Sexual attraction, coupled with that uncertainty, is perhaps what makes male-female relationships so intriguing.
