Miniature Worlds Sublime Clarissa Simmens

Poems are miniature novels, text books, historical records, recipe cards and any other genre one can imagine. The difference is--because poems are traditionally not more than a page or two-that they take a lot of thinking and connecting the dots by the reader. Metaphors, similes, confessions...not many of us have time to contemplate after reading a poem. Maybe because I'm "short" the saying "Good things come in small packages" intrigued me enough to read poetry and then write it. I like cataloging my poetry by subject. Each subject is a world in itself. The planets in our solar system are very different: size, composition of gases, wetness, dryness. If we were able to visit them, the separate personalities would be more obvious. So each of my poems are miniature worlds: Planet Music, Planet Love & Loss, Planet Mythology, Planet Florida, you understand, I'm sure. So please visit each world with enjoyment and indulge yourself in a bit of after-reading reflection because to me, interpreting the layers of each world contains the most satisfaction!
