WoodLand Explorers provides comprehensive lesson plans to stimulate curiosity about nature in addition to teaching practical self reliance skills such as solar cooking, water filtration methods and shelter building. Drawing on the nature school approach this book aims to inspire educators and childcare providers of students 7-14 years of age with Autism or Developmental Delays to think creatively about outdoor education. Nature based learning facilitates a child's lifelong connection with the natural world and helps young people to understand the need for a sustainable relationship between people and their environment.
