In 1960s Spain an impoverished Vicente Ferrer and his wily ex-classmate, Arantxa Sanchez, discover that his estranged English mother has hidden jewels inside on of four porcelain figurines. But which one? And what has his mother does with them? Having been reminded that she gave them to an Aunt, they set off across half of Spain to retrieve them. But how are they going to covertly discover which figurine hides the jewels without breaking any of them? How can they follow the trail without money? And why is Arantxa so keen to help the Hidalgo? The hidalgo's quest will take you an hilarious romp cross-crossing Spain as we follow the saga-spinning Vicente, crafty con-woman, Arantxa and a bevy of motley swindlers in search of the lost treasure. On finally, completing the quest, Vicente will discover that his mother's past was far more colourful than he would ever have imagined.
