The Tale of Fauna Jotundottir is a character-driven storybook inspired by 19th Century Romantic illustrated fairy books but created using the digital technology and fantasy role-play of 21st Century virtual reality. It chronicles the first 26 years of a half Nordic giantess / half Mediterranean faun who seeks love and a sense of belonging in an oft hostile world of mythical and fantastic creatures. The beautifully rendered color illustrations are all portraits of Second Life avatars, most of which were created for the purpose of illustrating this book.
