Fourteen-year-old Jessica has lived in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada all her life. She loves the harbour, the live music scene, but most of all the public library downtown. She's a simple steel town girl about to start high school -- until she meets Jack, an older boy from the North end of town, who has a rock band, a love for science-fiction, and a dangerous secret. Soon Frank, a leather-glad menace with an axe to grind, threatens both Jack and Jessica, and their only salvation may rest in the loveable kooks at the library, and a 'PKD' artifact Jack finds in the harbour...
