The deeply Independent people of Maine stood apart from the rest of the nation in rejecting the "New Deal" and in its relative economic stability during the Great Depression, and ironically, it remained apart from national trends when America emerged from WWII into an era of unprecedented economic prosperity. Our Story takes place at the closing months of WWII, near Kennebunkport Maine. The location is on the family compound known, as Cape Arundel located a few miles north of what was, in those days "A Village" called Kennebunk. The Kings English was spoken in a most formal, and to the point manner. Always using a long sentence, when a short one would suffice. Old money was the coin of the rhelm and just being in a family was a full time vocation for many. No one in a "Family" would be caught dead earning a living. Volunteering for charity or overseeing the family assets were the only acceptable professions. Scandal was a social pariah to be avoided at all costs. This is the story of one such family who spoke an lived by the rules. Its self-governing Matriarch who was having trouble deciding what to do with the "Old Money" frequently changed her Last Will and Testament as often as she changed her clothes. Then Murder reared its ugly head and nothing would ever be the same again.
