Advent is traditionally the time observed preceding Christmas that includes the four Sunday's before it. Advent is translated as the coming of something awaited or of extreme importance. As we consider the gravity of the birth of the long awaited Messiah, the Christ, it is fitting we pause and consider his coming. Many spend this time in prayer, penitence and fasting. You may be drawn to spend this time likewise, but you will also learn why there was a need for a Savior, when and where the need arose and the importance of the purity of the sacrifice that Christ would become. It is an adventure as you will travel across centuries on a journey from Creation to the birth of the long Awaited One.
