Michelle Eades is a 52 year old single lesbian mother who has experienced more tragedy in her life than anyone should have to go through. Born in 1963 in Deptford, South East London, she was the youngest of six children, her happy childhood being torn apart due to sexual abuse. An ex-self-harmer, Michelle suffers from anxiety issues and depression, which she keeps under control with medication. Having experienced traumatic losses in her family through mental health illnesses (one of which was brought on by violent ex-relationships and gang rape), Michelle has come through everything life has thrown at her so she can tell her story to others. Throughout her whole life, one question continued to plague her: 'Why?' It is this question she attempts to answer throughout these pages. Both sad and inspiring, this book will move you in many ways. It is an emotional and poignant look at one woman's life, and of how she overcame countless setbacks in order to become the strong and independent person she is today. Having originally started the book as a cathartic exercise, Michelle is now letting the world read her story, in the hope that she can help others who are suffering alone at this very moment.
