The book promotes a pro-kindness, anti-bullying movement. The book includes 10 Acts of Kindness that children can perform with their parents plus a Kindness Pledge that children are asked to recite each day. When young children are taught how to be kind, it reduces bullying in schools. The book identifies the four types of bullying (physical, verbal, social and cyber), people involved in a bullying situation (bully, ally, victim, bystandeer) and the talk-walk-tell strategy to deal with a bully.
