Franz Josef Kaps tells about the Iraqi student Ghaanim, who comes to the United States to study at a well-known US university and to take revenge for the killing of his family by US soldiers in Falludscha, Iraq. Ghaanim plans to blow up the graduation ceremony of the University. He lives with his sister Fatima near the University and shares the house with Marcus and Gulcin, a Swiss couple, with Dave, a Jewish student from New York and with Nancy, a Catholic student from Louisiana. While Ghaanim plans his terrorist attack, he has many exchanges with his housemates. The clash of civilizations unfolds. So does the love story between Ghaanim's sister Fatima and her Jewish housemate Dave. Fatima and Dave are aware, that their relationship is heading for disaster. Both are willing to die for their love. Can love prevail?
