The Last Building at Packerton Yards Louis a Robertella
The Last Building at Packerton Yards
Louis a Robertella
This book describes in detail and with computer generated illustrations how this building was constructed in step-by-step detail. Steel constructed buildings were new at the time this and this is one of the earliest steel framed industrial buildings built in eastern Pennsylvania. Designed in 1899 and completed by 1905 this building was the last building left standing in the Packerton Railroad Yards of the Lehigh Valley Railroad. The building was completely demolished in 2007 and this book tells its story, complete with actual photographs of the building as it was in 2003 before it was demolished. Steel structures became the way all large buildings were to be built in the future.
