He continues to be the best hunting guide in all of Whiskey Jack Lake and has many adventures including with the local game warden and out-of-state sports looking for a trophy. Prohibition and Women's Suffrage are common topics of conversation, and cause some interesting conversations and acts with the local townspeople in a mill town where walking and canoeing are the main forms of transportation, besides the train. Rascal's wife, Emma, had to learn to become independent while maintaining a household, while Rascal was away at war, and followed the law every step of the way. Her strict rules come to catch up with her when she least expects it.
