Eden in Purrgatory: A Satire is a satirical, yet well-researched prequel to Eden at Play: A Grown-Up Fable. It initiates a thematic trilogy that explores our relationship, for good or ill, with spiritual matters. This prequel is told from the perspectives of first-century cats while the middle one from contemporary people like ourselves and the final one from futuristic people who are half robotic. This novel includes a section on the historical aspects that are not limited to many of its characters. I also pay tribute to The Arabian Nights, Homer and Greek mythology as well as the burgeoning Christian religion. You don't need to be a cat lover or an atheist to enjoy Eden in Purrgatory: A Satire. That will help you more appreciate the satire, but a religious person and cat hater may well enjoy going back in time to when this thought-provoking story takes place. The book begins with my introductory poem, continues with brief poems or haikus as if created by a narrating cat, and ends with two of my recent poems on this spiritual theme.
