In 37-130, the sequel to 37, author Richard E. Robinson continues the saga of a man named 37, a famed hunter who lives on a planet in a distant solar system.
Both a warrior and a philosopher, 37 protects his fellow citizens of The Beautiful Place and broadens their minds, teaching them about numbers and mathematics.
When a less developed civilization known as the not-quite-people invade The Beautiful Place, 37 successfully leads his people's defense of their land, and they are able to drive the invaders away.
The hard-won peace does not last long, however, and soon 37 must undertake a surveillance mission to discover the true intentions of a ship that comes, ostensibly to trade. He travels to the east and locates a flotilla of boats preparing to launch an attack on The Beautiful Place.
Meanwhile, a lovely woman named Asha asks 37 to shelter her after she's assaulted by a former friend. Will he be able to save his people and help her? Or will he fall prey to his own pride?
