The people of the Valley Kingdom of Becknor have known a century of peace. Thanks to the noble, but controversial actions of Prince Achelon, the first Lord of Talwoods, none that dwell in the Valley have ever faced the prospect of war. But now, many decades after his death, those that had promised to protect Becknor's peace find themselves embroiled in a much larger conflict. As their armies march away, the people of the valley are helpless as their ancient enemies, the Goblin Hordes of the Everfrost Mountains invade their once safe land. Unproven in a real war, Hector, the valiant Captain of the Knights of the Valley, and Lydia, Regent of Becknor and last descendant of Achelon, are pushed to their limits in the defense of their home. While Hector and his knights fight the goblin army head-on, it is Lydia who may be the one to pay the dearest price for victory. A curse will fall upon the Regent. A curse so vile that it will torment Lydia day and night, with no rest or hope of recovery. She will die unless Hector can ride out and secure a fabled elixir made from a rare blue orchid. The war is only the beginning. The invasion of Everfrost will be the catalyst that sets a series of events in motion. Events so powerful, they may reshape not only the Valley-Kingdom, or the Dominion of the Mountain, but the world itself. For Hector and Lydia, their allegiance, and friendship to one another, will be tested most of all.
