The Flatlands Diary
Martin Burrows
The Flatlands Diary is a torrid tale that unfolds over the period of a 'Flatlands year', seen through the eyes of Morton Babeldom, an oddball character in an oddball community. This remote, forgotten district of East Anglia is considering leaving the United Kingdom after a referendum is thrust on them by the Flatland District Mayor and Council Elders. This diary chronicles the adventures and development of the main character who could best be described as a flawed man. He discovers that his beloved Flatlands community is run by crooks and thieves bent on destroying the district. Who better to try and save it then than Morton, a drag pole dancing artiste and entrepreneur with an interest in trepanning and amateur surgical procedures.
