Faithless Heart, a love storyFaithless Heart, a love story, is a dramatization of the prophet, Hosea's famous calling... When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, "Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and have children of harlotry; for the land commits flagrant harlotry, forsaking the Lord." (Hos 1:2)

Since childhood, Hosea has suffered from dreams and visions of a surpassingly beautiful woman whose name he somehow knows to be Gomer. When he first meets Gomer in the flesh she is rich, beautiful envied-the infamous daughter of the notorious and immensely wealthy merchant, Diblaim.

Though Gomer has experienced similar visions of Hosea, she rejects him and his conviction that they are fated to be together forever. She goes her own way during these, the safe and prosperous days of King Jeroboam II in Israel.

Afterward, over a period of rapid decline spanning the reigns of Israel's next six kings, Hosea becomes a mighty prophet and Gomer becomes a whore. Once immensely wealthy (and notorious both for her beauty and her exploits), Gomer marries Hosea out of desperation and bears him three children. But, having previously lived a thoroughly wanton life to support her father's booming trade and having given herself to an endless succession of princes and businessmen in venues from Carthage to Tyre, Gomer deserts Hosea and her children. A series of setbacks follow, and Gomer finds herself ugly, crippled, humiliated, penniless and helpless until she and Hosea meet again...

And Hosea, as God shall someday surely bless the modern state of Israel, extends to Gomer profound, infinite and thoroughly undeserved forgiveness and mercy.
