Adam Eismann, a good Jewish boy, and his (very) single mother Sarah live in New York City in 1993. A strange neo-Nazi named Perlmutter harrasses them to distraction, and they find themselves transported to a world where the Nazis won World War II. They are to be rescued very soon. That very night. They need only hold on. But there is no rescue. Adam must learn this strange world, hide from evil, find unlikely allies, repel enemies, help friends, and find truth in this world that has turned its back on truth. He will have help from a fugitive Nazi, a celebrity Phrenologist, a fugitive revolutionary, a ragtag group of independent scholars, and a number of half-alive devices built by the entranced savants that make this world what it is. He will need all the help he can get: because Permutter is coming, and his family of vicious neo-Nazis from our world plot to tear both worlds apart. To make matters worse they've attracted the attention of celebrity Phrenologists, the finest head doctors in the Republic, as well as the mysterious Herr Doktor Fauste, head of the Nazi savant program. And a man wants to date Adam's mom.
