The HUT is a novel about growing up in the 1950's; how innocent bravado led to trouble, guilt, fear, and that ultimate growth from puberty to young adulthood. This book is told with humor and pathos. In the end, right wins over the youthful perception of what this crazy world had in store for the young teens of that time. Crafted from the glory days of Detroit's post-war high chrome post-war auto productions, the book encompasses the genesis of Rock 'n Roll, to camaraderie at its best. Written from the retrospective of an adult looking back at his teen years. It tells of the author's life and how he shared it with the 'buds' he meets along the way. This is a novel based upon true and embellished experiences and has been likened to the 1986 Stephen King movie "Stand By Me", with a surprise twist at the end. Some names and places have been changed for obvious reasons.
