A must read for all fans, players and NFL owners. A simple, short, frank, concise, analysis of the key elements. For example... The "Integrity of the Game" is being Threatened The NFL Commissioner's Office has a secret... a big secret... the pressure gauges being used by the NFL are highly inaccurate. According to the Wells report... two officials (using different gauges) tested the game balls 23 times, and never got the same psi reading. In a separate test... the Colts use the same gauge in the same football (intercepted ball) three times and got three different readings (11.45, 11.35 and 11.75 psi). And, after running tests, Exponent found, "... it is also clear that when the Logo and Non-Logo Gauges are exposed to an identical pressure, different readings are produced... (between 0.35 and 0.75 psig)..." This is stunning... 24 out of 24 times the pressure gauges produced different readings. In other words, the NFL Commissioner's Office based their accusations against Brady and the Patriots on pressure gauges that are incapable of accurately measuring the psi of a football. Thus, it is true... the "integrity of the game" is being threatened. Not by the actions of any team or player, but the actions of the NFL Commissioner's Office. The NFL Commissioner's Office had a choice... accuse members of their organization with wrongdoing without probable cause or address the real problem... the need to calibrate the pressure gauges being used throughout the league. After all, how can a team submit properly inflated footballs... if their gauges aren't calibrated to those of the officials? And, how can the officials accurately test game balls... if their gauges aren't calibrated to the officials at the other games? The truth of the matter is... nobody has the slightest idea regarding the psi of the game balls. They have a general idea, but nobody really knows. Even with the new rules. They protect the game balls as if they're gold, but don't have the slightest idea regarding the actual (scientifically accurate) psi of the game balls that they are protecting as if they're gold. See the NFL Commissioner's Office for who and what it is. In their lust to destroy Brady and the Patriots, they didn't address the real problem... they chose to put on a charade of defending the "integrity of the game". Thanks - Steve
