These workbooks have been designed to serve as test preparation tools. Each question is aligned to the Learning Standards for New York State for reading. The passages match the format and content that students can expect to see on the New York Assessment. Each of our grades 2-8 titles also offers a guided introductory section designed to help students learn strategies to succeed on assessment tests. A variety of grade-level-appropriate fiction, nonfiction, and poetry passages are each coupled with multiple-choice and open-ended questions. In grades 5-8, students will find some passages about New York, as well as general interest passages. Teacher editions include extensive test-specific introductory guides and show correct and suggested answers for each of the questions asked, as well as the targeted skill for those questions.
