The quiet Scottish highland village of Abercorrie is saddened following a tragic accident which claims the lives of two of its residents. Before grief has had time to subside however, there is a further fatality then another, and another..... Detective Inspector Buchanan calls a public meeting in an endeavour to quell the growing local belief that foul play is the driving force but serves only to exacerbate their concern. Set in and around a secondary school in which dark sarcasm pervades and outlandish scenes unfold, Mr Martin returns after the summer as Miss Martin, and other staff and villagers harbour secrets from bondage to much more which they dare not disclose. By stealth however all consuming mocking derisive evil will feed and grow from their indiscretions.
