Father. Husband. Brother. Marine. These weren't just titles to Ron, author Greg Balise's father. They were facets of his very being, areas of his life in which he invested everything he had.



In For My Father, Greg gives us a glimpse into what made his father the man of character he knew and loved. He recounts memory after memory-from the house Greg grew up in to the time Ron scared the living daylights out of Greg's sister with a clown doll to their last vacation together-weaving a tale both humorous and heartwarming.



In the end, Ron's fight with cancer was a private one; he tried to protect his family from the pain of it, as he had with most things in life. And while Ron's final days brought so much sadness, reminiscing about the happy memories together eclipsed the suffering for the whole family-Ron's final gift to those he loved.
