Publisher Marketing: Every working appraiser today knows that appraising honestly, ethically, accurately and under the laws set forth by the ASC may lead to removal from an approved appraiser list, followed by a blacklisting and leading to the end of a career for simply possessing integrity. Congressman Frank and Senator Dodd, are likely the laughing stock of Appraisal Management Companies and mortgage lenders. Congressman Frank and Senator Dodd created a set of federal laws in which AMC's and lenders we to abide by when in fact they brush and laugh them off. And why shouldn't they laugh when no one is enforcing any of their acts. The appraisal industry continues to operate under the intimidation of losing appraisal orders and careers. Fees are still an industry joke. Blacklisting and the corresponding collusion to prevent honest appraisers from completing reports is at an all time high. I personally would be embarrassed and humiliated if I had spent months and months, millions of tax payer monies, created an act that bares my name, only to have lenders and AMC's salute it with one finger, but that has been the response of AMC's and mortgage lenders across the nation. ...as it stands today, appraisers continue to be extorted, they continue to be blacklisted, they continue to be driven out of the industry for simply following the laws, regulations and ethics that are dictated to them by the ASC.
