The Leesburg Poems
Emerson Gilmore
These human and humane poems run from belly-shaking laughter to poems of grief, loss and change, both good and bad. They were written during the eight months the author lived in Northern, VA and met with the members of the Writers' Roundtable at the Leesburg, VA Senior Center. The people there were all of uncommon life achievement and decency. In short, they made it a great place for a writer new to the community to resume a writing career that had been comfortable in Hebron, CT for fifteen years. The poems resonate with life and are warmly dedicated to the members of the Roundtable.
