Good News! On the Journey is designed to be a helpful guide for people who are searching for a deeper relationship with God. Obedience, faith, prayer, Bible reading, worship and service are some of the destinations included in the 'itinerary.' All of the topics covered are applicable and important regardless of where a person is in his or her journey, whether just beginning, in the middle of it or perhaps heading towards the end. Each chapter of Good News! On the Journey begins with a verse from the Bible, followed by an introduction to its particular theme and several related personal stories which were originally published in the "Good News!" column of the Porterville Recorder newspaper between 2010 and 2016. Some of the stories have been adapted to fit particular chapter themes. The chapters typically close with a prayer and a place for the reader to respond with his/her own story or prayer. This format makes the 97 page devotional "guidebook" easy to use for personal quiet times as well as with a group of people.
