Ashley Jones is different than most kids her age. At sixteen years old, she's been forced to face several realities of the world. At eight years old, she was forced to raise her younger brother, Cameron, for four years before her father stepped up and took on his role as a parent. Every day while she's awake, she sees the dead. Every night while she sleeps, she sees people's worst dreams, sees what they fear most. One night, death and worst dreams collide, and Ashley and Cameron are thrown into a world where they are orphans. Problem after problem finds its way into Ashley's life, slowly chipping away at her once chipper attitude. She digs into her father's past to find out why he died, who killed him. She doesn't understand how someone like her father could be shot in cold blood. She finds things that she wishes weren't true, but they are. She quickly discovers that the bridge to truth can be rickety.
