Ron and his cohorts believed they could use this type of metaphorical darkness to cloak their misdirection to essentially create and sell a product. Taking into account trends in media and popular culture, they were able to harness the madness and dysfunction of the modern world. In the wake of success, their victory becomes increasingly imbued with other hues of darkness. Ron and his team become increasingly aware they are not the first ones to come up with this idea and they, themselves are to become a product. Part philosophy, part paranoid fiction, Pieter Stewart's Rental Car is an exploration of identity, the convention of ownership, the design of knowledge and murder.
