Publisher Marketing: Requests from readers for answers to open-ended issues in the author's previous book, "The Restoration Project," gave rise to "Lilies of the Spirit." Set in Lafayette, LA, about two years after the renovation of the Southern plantation, LacClair, this book delves into various mysteries unearthed in the restoration of the estate. The project coordinator, now overseer of the historical landmark, Sherri Foret, and her husband, Justin, continue to investigate the "unknown." The burial site for the plantation builder's wife, Maria, is researched as is the status of her child she did not live to see at birth. The quest for facts leads to a quaint little church adjacent to the massive walls enclosing the estate and a friendship with the young clergyman, Terry Park. The question of Sherri's talking with human spirits, now deceased for over 100 years, is considered in the light of possible psychic experiences and information gained through this communication. She defines for the reader her interpretation of the spirit world as revealed to her through experiences at the old plantation. The writer's research and personal experiences while living in Louisiana and interacting with others in that culturally diverse part of the country sparks color and life to the pages of text. The reader is privy to both thoughts and actions of the characters and is free to allow imagination or reason to interpret the tale.
