Bomai Dick Witne
Bomai D Witne comes from Simbu Province. His father is a traditional Yuri man and his mother is a Bari woman. He is currently teaching Political Science at the University of Goroka and is married with five children. Like many educated Papua New Guineans he is struggling to work out where he belongs in the world. He sits uncomfortably between the old and the new, the traditional and the modern. He is struggling to inherit both worlds. In this collection of stories and essays he explores this dilemma in all its dimensions in an attempt to find out where the answer lies. In this sense he presents the reader with a kind of journey, in some parts literal and in others figurative. You are invited to share the journey and make your own mind up. Perhaps there is no answer nor any end to the journey.
