Jean, a young farmer, has been chosen for the annual Competition of Arms at the ruling Lord's spring festival. No one has ever defeated Lord Amsbury. Struggling through fear and hopelessness, the farmer determines to make it back to his wife and son -even though it means staring death in the face.
