Baptized in the decimated remains of a churro stand, Donny quickly finds himself in debt to the local mob, learning the ropes of the longest-running LSD empire secretly operating in America's favorite theme park. Shadowing his elderly mentor known colloquially as Saint Sunshine, Donny is given a crash course through the seedy underbelly of Brigsbyland, the happiest place on Earth. Degenerate Brigsbyland mascots want his drugs. Members of his own syndicate are working against him. A local street gang is initiating a turf war with his supplier. Dueling crime syndicates in surrounding towns are playing a deadly game of tug-of-war with his income. And most perplexing of all, a secret army believes he holds the key to bringing the park crashing to the ground. But not if the group from which they splintered have any say in the matter, charging Donny with the sacred mission of finding the long-hidden proof that Brigsby Bee was in fact the stolen creation of a Slovakian animator betrayed to the Red Scare; a revelation that would bring not just the oppression of the park to a halt, but the entire Brigsby empire. Worst of all, when Donny cannot meet any of their demands, some of them are actually competent enough that they might eventually prove able to kill him. Unless of course the vindictive local law enforcement agency finally finds something to prosecute him with. But not if the mounting FBI investigation has anything to say about it. Playing a dangerous game pitting one side against another in a web of deceit that even HE can't keep straight, Donny must find some way to expand the operation to remain in the Don's good graces, keep himself alive, stay out of jail, and if at all possible make certain that his mentor can retire without being killed as planned by the syndicate. Even if his cantankerous mentor insists on kicking and screaming the whole way.
