The Mockingbird's Song
Susan Lanning
Regan Holiday from New York City has come on the run to Bryant's Crossing, South Carolina, to help her eccentric Great Aunt Vivian Summerset out of trouble. But having arrived, Regan now finds her aunt denying there's a problem. Commander Cabe Rutledge is a desperate man on the run. He's been accused of something he didn't do and is trying to prove his innocence. He suspects elderly Vivian Summerset, who runs a gift shop in Bryant's Crossing, of somehow being involved. It all begins when Regan spots a dead man in the Old Slave Mart and starts to scream for help. Suddenly she's grabbed by Cabe, dressed all in black. He lets her go but tells her to shut up and get out of there. From that moment on, Regan, Cabe and Vivian are involved in a crazy dance of deception, espionage and possible death.
