'Sally' leaves her home country of Australia, meets and marries John and settles down to a happy married life. However, She realizes quite soon that there is something wrong. The arrival of two children, the constant struggles with a difficult mother-in-law and a hostile bureaucracy increase the tension until finally matters come to a head and the mystery about John is resolved.
