Hymns to the Beloved: Poems by
Ana Ramana
Publisher Marketing: Hymns To The Beloved is a collection of devotional poems to the various aspects of the Divine that have deeply touched Ana Ramana. The book is divided into nine sections, including poems of praise for the Indian sage, Ramana Maharshi; the Holy Mountain Arunachula; Shiva; aspects of the Divine Mother, including Our Lady, Anandamayi Ma, and the hugging saint, Amma. There is also a section on Self Enquiry and Freedom, as well as a final chapter of love poems for the reader. The striking image of the Madonna on the book cover repeats throughout the pages of the book, as a prelude to each new section. These poems are the fruits borne of a 16 year spiritual journey, involving a long dark night and culminating in a complete transformation and abidance in True Love for the poet. This is Ana's fourth collection of poems. She is the recipient of multiple writing awards including The Academy of American Poets Prize and the William Stafford Poetry Fellowship. Her poems have been published and anthologized worldwide, including The Mountain Path (India), England, Wales, Canada, and the USA. Ana lives in Mt. Shasta, California and offers writing workshops in Spiritual Memoir and Mystic Poetry by invitation.
