Antinovelas I
Roberto Gac Artigas
"El Bautismo" (The Baptism) tells the life, passion and death of Juan-Agustín Palazuelos, brilliant promise of the Chilean literature. He dies at 33 years old, just after returning to Chile from the International Literary Workshop of the University of Iowa, in July 1969. Psychedelic drugs, sex, alcohol and discussions about the novel as an obsolete literary genre, structure the axe of the orgiastic celebration of the Juan-Agustín' son Baptism in a village of the Andes, close to Santiago.
