Ex Machina is the fictional story of the life of Demian McInnis, an environmental warrior who launches and leads a revolution - both physical and spiritual - to save earth during the ecological Armageddon resulting (presently) from human overpopulation and incidental environmental degradation. The protagonist, Demian McInnis, is born and raised a "legacy"** on the campus of Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, NJ. It is there at age 14 he witnesses the ritualistic slaying of a helpless animal and resolves to obtain vengeance. In his quest for retribution, he experiences an epiphanic conversion through the mystical mentoring of a hermitic, retired schoolmaster (Alexander Minor Warriner), whereafter the combined events of a feral cat's death and its killer's redemption become the microcosmic model for saving the world from approaching ecological catastrophe. The writer of Ex Machina earnestly and absolutely believes that the novel and screenplay it took a decade to write, rewrite, edit, polish, illustrate (with over thirty paintings, drawings, lithographs and photographs) could literally, if read and/or seen at the movies, move the world to save itself from itself.
