However, his early writings resulted in a chapbook, "Semantics of a Dark Sun" a collection of poems that provide insight into Everett's early childhood years. He performed his poetry in Atlanta, Baltimore, and Washington, D. C. In addition, he wrote poetry that was read by Old Court Middle School students for the school's presentation entitled "Portrait of a Child" In 2000 the Arena Players, Baltimore City's storied community theater, planned to perform "Semantics of a Dark Sun" in Amsterdam. However, the tragic events of September 11, 2000 led to cancellation of the overseas trip. Everett is excited to have Xlibris publish his early works.
