Gordon Strayer
These "snippets" from Gordon Strayer's memory provide glimpses of his life from birth and childhood on the Saskatchewan prairies through school, machinist apprenticeship, basic flight training and some months of Army Air Corps-assigned university study before WWII military service in Europe that included glider infantry training in France and Austria, a Bavarian summer in Hitler's Berchtesgaden, and some months adminis- tering military justice. Postwar journalism study helped prepare him for a career in public relations at a Big Ten university, which yielded another range of adventures for his discerning eyes and sharp commentary.
