Toni, a quirky city girl lands her first full time position as a preschool teacher. She knows her life is about to change, but change doesn't come in the package she expected. Toni's big heart is put to the test. She soon learns about the struggles the children in her classroom experience when they are faced with crisis. Toni is eager to lose the title of rookie so bad that she ignores the fact that her heart is breaking until she lands in the hospital with a crisis of her own. Toni finds the strength to keep going through the support she receives from the people that love her like her parents, her older sister Jo, her best friends Mercy and Anthony and the teachers at the school who take her in and mentor her, in the midst of the struggles. Although her faith in God is shaken through it all, it is her faith that gives her the strength to find her way once again. Maria Antoinette Dominguez is a native San Franciscan. Her parents are originally from Todos Santos, a little town near Cabo San Lucas, in BCS Mexico. She has been an Early Childhood Educator in the Bay Area for 20 years. She also taught Child Development courses at a vocational college for two years and Violence Intervention courses at the community college level for 5 years. When Maria is not working as a teacher or writing, she enjoys scoping out new coffee shops and bookstores.
