Author Maynard Millar remembers in vivid detail the life lessons from his father that he obtained throughout his life, and how those lessons shaped his hard work ethic and mindset towards Christian living. Raised on a farm, Maynard's father, Amos, had lived with Christian values in the home, but had drifted from his faith once out on his own. That changed when a door-to-door evangelist led Amos and his family to the Lord, through acceptance in Jesus. Years later, Amos would become a strong component of Christ in the community, becoming a church planter and inspiring his oldest son to also venture into pastoring. Maynard recalls the formal and informal learning he gained from Amos, yet sees his best lessons came from Amos's embodiment as an unintentional teacher.
