Hey you! Yes, you?the one who just picked out this book. If you?re looking for excitement, you?ve found it. But I hope you have a strong stomach. Parts of my story are not pretty. But there you have it. I?m not into a lot of buzz myself. I?m happy to shuffle one foot in front of the other, thank you very much. Not the adventurous type. Really. Somebody had other ideas. Somebody decided that I needed to have my whole world turned upside down. Somebody decided to pry my eyes open so I could see things that no other kid has ever seen, things that are?to put it bluntly?crazy stupid. For example, I thought I lived with both feet planted firmly on Planet Earth. Wrong. Come to find out I have one foot on another planet too, a planet called Shomara?and all at the same time. How?s that? Yeah, you guessed it. I have spirit sight. Weird, right? Then there?s the Blood Jewel. Again, I didn?t ask for it, but I got it anyway. Woo hoo! What a rush. That?s all I?ll say about that for now. I decided to write down these fluky episodes, not because I think you?ll believe me, but because I?ve discovered that this could happen to anybody. No, let me rephrase that. This IS happening to EVERYBODY. Every person on the earth is under the same curse. No duh. It?s just that most people don?t know it. I?ve recorded what I remember as your ?heads up.?
