The Relevance of Church Based, Compared to Non Church Based, Youth Groups in Todays Society: What's the Point in Youth Groups? Mr M S Lewis 2nd edition

This book covers a research project for The University of Wales, Newport, UK, and is based on two different types of youth groups; church based and non church based. I met up with Christian youth and non Christian youth groups, interviewing and meeting both young people and the leaders. In hindsight the question I posed was too big for the sample group I studied. It was clear that both types of group have merits and focused on their young people. It was apparent that agendas set by each group were influenced by external bodies and organizations linking to funding and governance. The main question of whether these types of youth groups are relevant has been answered and it is clear that the young people find these groups relevant and beneficial in their lives to some degree.
