Have you ever wondered why mankind has never made contact with aliens? Delta Control knows that aliens exist. For decades the secret government unit has been observing their spaceships fly the most amazing aerobatics, but has never been able to catch one. Whenever they land, they simply turn into water with an eight per cent salt content. Jim Mitchel, a rich entrepreneur, befriends a tramp called Howard and discovers that he has the uncanny ability to experience other people?s feelings. By chance, Professor James, a leading neurologist, also finds an anomaly in Howard?s genes and imprisons him in a private psychiatric hospital to study the effects. Delta Control eventually learns of Howard?s ability and raids the hospital. However, Jim and Beverly Reed, one of Howard?s doctors, help Howard escape. Delta Control, several other government agencies, and a mysterious Russian chase the three of them around the world. While fleeing, Jim and Beverly gradually uncover more and more of Howard?s abilities and the reason for his strange dreams. On the other side of the universe, beyond the laws of time and space, a sphere of water turns silently in space. Below the surface something watches and waits for time itself to cease. However, the true solution to the mystery lies buried in Delta control.
