To a veteran standing near the station and inside the train going somewhere is what he would like his life to be like. Active, forceful, energetic, thrilling. He wants a producer to give him a chance as a playwright and comic. He is mugged but remains there. He talks about war and theater and especially expresses his deep feelings for the L train.
