Sam Stresemann has simple life with his family in rural South Carolina. Sam is a blue collar worker in a factory with a part time farm he runs with his wife Sara. Sam and Sara are content until the government begins to crumble under the relentless attacks of terrorists and collapses not with a bang but a whimper. Sam and Sara find their simple life gone as they struggle to survive in a world with no law except what they can make themselves. The little group of friends and family band together to make a haven for those oppressed as they fight to establish peace while the new government forms. Sam is uncomfortable as the leader of the group but finds that Sara is his true strength as their bond grows stronger and their love gives hope to everyone around them. Sam soon realizes that the normal life he so badly wanted isn?t gone he just has to get used to the new normal.
