My name is Devin Symms. I'm not from here. Hell, I don't even know where here is. I only know it isn't home. It isn't Earth. I don't know how I got here and I don't know how to get back. I don't even know if I can get back.

I've met some people who seem to want to help. Nice people. Well, mostly people and mostly nice. I wouldn't have made it this far without them.

They have magic. Strange magic like nothing I ever imagined. They can make stone come to life. I know it sounds crazy, but I've seen it. I don't know how it works, but the old man is willing to teach me.

There's a problem though. Someone's been killing the wizards, except they don't call themselves wizards. They are Shapers, and the old man is one of the last ones. If I join him, I could be the next target on an insane serial killer's list.

It's my best chance to find a way home. Maybe my only chance.

I'm scared.
