Set in the far future, Eden?s End explores themes that are fundamental to the human condition. Kellar Jar, a young pilot, joins an experimental project called ?Mindflying? which ostensibly aims to develop instantaneous travel across the Galaxy by using the amplified power of the human mind to modify patterns underlying the Universe. Jar develops an uncanny and inexplicable ability in mindflying, but in the process becomes irreversibly bonded to his colleague Ankel, and is doomed to share a common mind with her for the rest of his life. As the true nature of the Mindflying project becomes clear, Jar and Ankel must come to terms not only with their own joint identity, but also with the horrifying power they have unleashed. In the second part, decades later, Jar?s son Hamel sets out to discover the truth about his dead father?s past in order to understand his own childhood, and in turn becomes embroiled in the consequences of Jar?s acts, climaxing in the realization that Jar passed him knowledge and abilities that threaten the existence of the Universe itself.
