Tortoise goes to Jail
Emmanuel Ejiofor Igwebike
This is an African folk story told backwards. In most countries in Africa, the Tortoise is always a Hero in the African Children's stories, and the Tortoise is always cheating its way out of any jam. Tortoise always out smarts its colleagues and never pays for any wrong doings. We need to change this Tortoise behavior so that our children will begin to understand that there is a price to pay for doing bad things or for trying to even cheat. Today, in almost the whole face of Africa, if you cheat your way and make it, your own people will crown you a king to recon with. So here it is, Tortoise is going to get some punishment for doing something not so cool with his friends. Maybe it will begin to sink in, that this hero is not so cool after all.
